Lord Netty aka King Arthur is a hip hop artist from Gary, IN. If ya don’t know about the GI look it up. Don’t get it twisted though. A lot of good families and people are holding it down right now, including my own. This to me is the setting of The Brainstorm. This music is soul music and will be relevant far into the future. It’s not soul music because he’s singing, it’s soul music because it’s truth. In our world of plastic, organic truth still holds value. Lord Netty describes life with brutally honest details and creative wordplay. Intelligent flow elicits emotion and vivid images while delivering a potent message in the end.
A common crippling agent of many artists is their performance, but his live show is engaging and raw because of his lyrics and presence. You can catch him performing throughout the Midwest with plans of coastal tours in the works. A constant feature at Just Due’s Fresh Fest, Netty tears it up every time. We will continually promote good shit and are glad to have him join the Just Due Records team.

I had a chance to ask him some important questions…
Stakzilla: What do you want people to get from your music?
Lord Netty: I want people to enjoy and be enlightened by my music. I tell stories about my success and failures because I want to motivate people. I want people to listen to my music and feel like real hiphop is still prominent.
Stakzilla: Who are your top 5 rappers?
Lord Netty: (In no particular order) Jay Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Andre 3000, MF Doom.
Stakzilla: Talk about your beats.
Lord Netty: I like to rap over a lot of soul samples because the sound and feel of live instruments can’t be duplicated. Soul beats give your message a more sincere sound, I think. For the more up tempo joints I need a steady rhythm and a kick that sounds like somebody beatin on the fuckin door lol.
